This is very easy to answer: nothing.
That’s right, at work we have no music. We have no radio. This is due to one simple thing: money. For showrooms to play music or even have a radio on, they require a licence, and that comes with a cost. Saving money is very much the name of the game these days, so there’s no background noise whatsoever.
Can this make for an eerie environment? Sometimes. If, for whatever reason, you find yourself lone-trading, the temptation is to fire up a playlist via one’s phone, but to be honest, I don’t mind the silence. Well, sometimes I don’t mind the silence. The trouble is, you can’t play a playlist, because it would take only one customer to report you, and that’s the store and company in a lot of trouble. So, alas, no music at work for me.
Further prompt – What music, if any, do you listen to when writing?
You shall discover the answer… on the 24th of August, mwwahahaha!
