Writing Prompts: How Failure led to Success

How has a failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?

Failure is part and parcel of life. We all make mistakes, we all fall down, we all do things we regret and are not proud of. However, not everyone responds to setbacks in the same way. I will stew over my mistakes until the day I die, but when it comes to turning failures into victories… well, there have been a few moments I am proud of.

Take the events of last year. I wasn’t performing to the standards required of me as a salesperson, so I took steps to learn from this, double-down, focus, and turned things around quite spectacularly, if I don’t mind saying so myself. My sales performance is much improved, and I feel I can handle what the showroom throws at me (well, for the most part, if you check out the Meerkat Muse series, I do allude to a few grating challenges I really don’t need!).

Failure is not the end. Sometimes it is the beginning. As someone once said, ‘the master has failed more times than the beginner has tried’. Never, ever let a failure define you.
