Writing Prompts: Having it All

What does “having it all” mean to you? Is it attainable?

An interesting notion. To some, having it all would mean a big, luxurious house, decked out in exactly the manner they desire (for me, a cinema/games room, indoor and outdoor pool, big barbecue area, and a well-stocked wine/beer room would be great!). Fair play to those with such ambition, and I wish them well in achieving it, provided they’re not stepping on others or doing illegal stuff to get there!

On a personal level, having a stable environment in which to live with my wife and daughter is something I already have. Sure, I’d like more disposable income (it would be nice to have a two-week break at a five-star resort every year), but overall, I have a lot to be thankful for.

What I would consider ‘having it all’ would be to sell loads of books, thus allowing me to fund a big house and holidays… and I might build a huge model railway too!
