Moving on quickly from B, we have C – and because it’s literally the first film starting with C to occur to me, let’s take a look at Casino Royale, Daniel Craig’s first Bond adventure.

I struggle with this film being released all the way back in 2006. It’s hard to imagine that we should be enjoying his latest outing this very month… But we won’t.

I enjoyed this film. Casino Royale gave us a more human Bond, a more broody, less likeable Bond who had vulnerability, yet also a sheer physical presence and greater resourcefulness than Brosnan’s Bond (who was all about the gadgets). This film felt raw, honest and intense. It was also beautifully shot.
