But in all seriousness, hands up if you truly believe this is a good thing. No takers? Not a single one? I can’t say I blame you.

The decision to reopen pubs was always a bad idea at this stage. People + alcohol + pub = ignoring social distancing and with that, we’ll not only get the inevitable second spike, but it will be worse than the first. Not for the first time, the decision by the government to put the economy ahead of lives will prove costly.
