Persistent Pests

Despite making it abundantly clear to a certain evangelical that their comments would no longer be permitted, said evangelical has failed to take the hint and has left comments on a regular basis. They fall straight into the moderation queue and then get binned, because frankly, they are not worth the time to dissect.

However, I’ll address one or two things…

Hmm, insults and rude behaviour… what’s the Bible position on this?

Titus 3:2: To speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people.

Luke 6:31: And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

Galatians 5:22: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

I know plenty of Christians who practice these values. They’re not evangelicals, and I can’t help but wonder if that’s because evangelicals omit the parts of the Bible they don’t like? Food for thought.

My evangelical adversary takes issue with an article about my personal experience being about me? Who else would it be about?! I write from the heart and I write my thoughts. No one is making him read them, just as no one is making him read my site (I have to wonder if he objects to my personal blog being about me as well?). He is welcome to post whatever he wants on his site. I’m under no obligation to conform to his unrealistic desires for what I write as guest posts.

UPDATE 12th September 21

The one who shall not be named responded…

This is interesting. I wonder if TEWSNBN recalls one of our earliest conversations about discrimination laws, where he edited out details in the comments that demonstrated he was factually incorrect? That’s distortion (indeed, it’s dishonesty). There’s the refusal to see the facts around faith healing. There’s other stuff too, but it’s too much for one post.

Meanwhile, TEWSNBN’s comment didn’t even begin to address the meat of my post. Do the Biblical passages I quoted mean nothing to him?

Apparently they don’t, or at least, TEWSNBN will try to justify his rude and insulting, unbiblical behaviour:

Don’t you just love the effort expended to validate name-calling whilst also criticising name-calling? By TEWSNBN’s ‘logic’, the insults aimed at him aren’t insults, they are criticising his attitude and logic.

There’s more:

The word ‘ironic’ is overused these days, but it’s all too accurate here. In previous conversations with TEWSNBN factual links have been removed from my comments if they have contradicted their arguments, so clearly TEWSNBN does mind contradictory views, even when they’ve been presented correctly (IE, in the form of facts). However the most ironic turn of phrase here is the first sentence. I am curious to see what forms of mental gymnastics TEWSNBN will perform next. Will they cease from leaving comments on my blog calling me an idiot? After all, it’s clear to any reasonable person that such behaviour isn’t very nice…
