Local Election Day!

Today, voters in the UK took to the polls in local elections. These don’t usually have a seismic impact on the political landscape, but they can be an opportunity for the people to send a message to the political establishment. 8,000 council seats were up for grabs; who would emerge in a good place from it all?

What amazes me is that even after 13 years of terrible governance, people still vote Tory. The Tories are trying their hardest to blame the nation’s problems on anyone but themselves, despite having had more than a decade to ‘level up’ the country. Take a look at their record…

All of that is before we examine the Tories’ terrible record with covid-19, and don’t get me started on Partygate. Then there’s the spectacular own-goal of Brexit.

Tactical voting to hurt the Tories today won’t remove them from power, but it will be a clear rejection of their cruel, self-serving policies. Get out, and vote for whatever party has the best chance of ousting a Tory!
