For our work Christmas do, we decided to do something a little different. We took on an escape room! It was themed around Narnia, though not called Narnia (presumably for copyright reasons). How did we get on?
Well, between the four of us… we floundered. The very first room was based on the closet, and finding a way into it. This involved finding numerical codes to undo locks, but the codes were potentially all over the place. We had to work out the ages of children and put them into the right order. That took ages, and we only got there thanks to clues from the hosts. Then, we floundered again in the next room (‘Narnia’ itself), despite having part of it bypassed for us by the hosts! There was stuff involving butterflies, snowballs, weird symbols… gah! It was hard, and whilst it was sort of fun, I’m not sure I’d do it again. I for one do not have the analytical mind to process what needs to be done.
That sounds like a lot of fun! My friends invited me to their company party at a local company that had an escape room. I didn’t try it, though. I feel that, while I’m smart, I’m too competitive and short-tempered for it.
So, I stuck with the main event – Throwing axes and knives (safely, at a target, but STILL lol).
I bet it was therapeutic!
