‘What do you like most about your writing?‘
This is a tricky question. I’m not given to self-praise and, whilst I consider a competent writer/blogger, I’d be the first to admit my writing can be a bit… dry.
Dry like this meerkat. Not completely devoid of personality, but a bit vacant between the ears.
On the other hand, when I ‘hook things up’, I feel I can be very and colourfully expressive. I’m quite proud of my recent F1 posts relating to my F1 2021 game playthrough. I am very proud of my book, The Awakening, and I cannot wait to resume work on that project. For as long as I can remember I’ve dabbled with creative writing, and I’ve learned a lot along the way. New and revised means of structuring sentences, developing an understanding of active vs passive phrasing, showing rather than telling the story… these are all skills I’ve picked up and I hope to put them to good use.
Hopefully, people read my writing and they can see for themselves how it’s evolved. My earliest efforts make me cringe, my more recent ones do not, which I guess is what I like most about my writing. It’s evolved into something that I myself can enjoy.
