The Meerkat Responds: Armchair Experts, Part Two
Following on from this Meerkat Prompt, and some fascinating commentary, I figured this subject would be perfect for a follow-up. Once again, I am dumbfounded by the declarations by some ignorant commentators, who cannot see the wood for the trees where their hypocrisy is concerned. I should probably not waste my time with this post, considering the target audience, and their insatiable desire for tit-for-tat exchanges, but sometimes matters need clarification.
One such commentator is my persistent trolling pest, Derrick Thiessen. Mr Thiessen claims to be a doctor, yet this is strictly of theology, highly limited in scope (if his claim is even believable), so why does he repeatedly make claims about fields such as science and archaeology, areas he clearly knows nothing about?
Lest he whinge that I too know nothing of these subjects, let me clarify an important point: whereas Mr Thiessen pretends he knows a lot more than he actually knows, I do not pretend to understand that which I do not. I have never proclaimed my views to be worth more than experts in their fields. Mr Thiessen routinely and arrogantly does. He denies science, despite having no grounds to do so.
In his ironically-titled post, Not Minding One’s Own Business, Mr Thiessen not only demonstrated he cannot mind his own business (why should he be able to dictate to me what I can and cannot write about?), he also proved, yet again, that he is woefully ignorant on fields of archaeology and science. He denies that dinosaur remains are millions of years old, showing wilful ignorance of the various geological dating tools at the disposal of those far more qualified than he. He then rather laughably states:
What a crock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. This discovery only says that despite their claims to be rational and logical, scientists are great fairy tale writers.. They spin a good yarn that deceives millions of people, and that is wrong.
Pot, meet kettle. Mr Thiessen believes literal giants once roamed the earth, despite a lack of evidence, all because the Bible hints at their existence. Talk about believing a fairytale!
It is clear Mr Thiessen is an armchair expert, spouting off his ‘expertise’, despite not understanding the topics he writes about. The difference between him and me is that I do not claim to be an expert in these fields. I do not write deceitful material under the pretence of education. I offer opinions, opinions I support with facts wherever I can.
Armchair ‘experts’ like Mr Thiessen pompously declare that I should mind my own business, but do not follow their own demands, despite their own lack of knowledge and expertise across various subjects. Worse, in response to my pointing out Mr Thiessen’s hypocrisy where this is concerned, he switched things up in his usual obtuse, disingenuous manner:
Speaking of MM, he wrote a response to our mind your own business and his only point was– ‘I will write on any topic I want to’– such a stubborn, close-minded individual who does not get the fact that what he has to say means nothing because he is not qualified to speak on many topics.
{By the way, he has blocked us from having access to his website again, despite his claims that he has not.}
Again, pot meet kettle. Mr Thiessen is not qualified to write about virtually any topic pertaining to archaeology, science, economics, and parenting (to list but a few subjects he pompously spouts off about). He does not understand any of them. He has every right to write about them, but he should stop pretending he’s an expert, and if he practiced what he preached, he’d stop writing about what he doesn’t understand. After all, what he says on those subjects is worthless. He is not one to lecture on being stubborn, considering his dogmatic refusal to listen to reason. Besides, Derrick missed the point, as he so often does, that point being that I am free to write about whatever I like. It’s not his business, and if he doesn’t like it, and if what I write means nothing, why is he obsessively hounding me?
As to his claim I’ve blocked him despite saying otherwise… I recently attempted to introduce a VPN blocker to my site, and I don’t think it worked, so I removed it. It doesn’t matter anyway; Derrick is an obsessive stalking troll, he circumvented such blocks before, and would do so again, all in the name of harassing me with his lies and deception. I have made no recent statements blocking him or unblocking him. Why should I take anything he has to say seriously, when he lies to me, and about me, on a routine basis? What can he offer me, whilst he remains afraid to use my name or link to my site?
