The Meerkat Q&A, Question Five: Smooth or Crunchy Peanut Butter?
For as long as I can remember, I have much preferred crunchy peanut butter to smooth. In my humble view, peanut butter should have actual peanuts in it! It provides a satisfying layer of added texture to toast, or to a sandwich, and if you want to get creative you can use it in cooking up savoury dishes too. With all of that in mind, I am personally struggling to come up with a purpose for smooth peanut butter. Maybe it serves as a coating, or could find use in desserts?
Of course, this is very much subjective. If you prefer smooth, go for it! There is no right and wrong with this, but as always, I am curious to know what you ‘kats think, and fascinated to learn if there is any sort of consensus about peanut butter!
