Meerkat Prompts: The Opportunity to Write
From a site called The Coffee Monster (which must be considered a great name, by the way) comes a list of prompts. The prompt listed for the 6th of September 2025 is If you were given the opportunity to write a book, what kind of book would it be?
Well, in many respects this prompt is easy for me, since I’ve already had that opportunity! As many of you who read this blog will know, I published my first book, The Awakening, a few years back, and it’s science fiction, which shall come as no surprise to anyone who knows me. I was fortunate to find a publisher (in the shape of Jumpmaster Press) willing to take on my earlier, self-published version, and polish it to a level they were willing to put their name to. They gave me the time and the opportunity to develop a story I can be proud of, and if I had to do the same journey all over again, I’d do it in the same way. Sci-fi is my thing, my jam, so to speak, and I certainly aim to keep on writing sci-fi, with a dash of fantasy thrown in too. Let’s hope I can have more opportunities to indulge my ideas!
