My aim with mantras is simple. Treat others with kindness and respect, because that’s how I would like to be treated, but also because it’s simply the right thing to do. I do not discriminate along racial, gender or ethnic lines. Everyone is treated the same, and everyone is treated as an individual.
Unfortunately, there’s a lot of ‘othering’ in society. It’s the 21st Century, and yet people get treated differently over their sex, skin colour, or sexual orientation. You’d think we’d be past such attitudes by now, but alas, we are not.
The bottom line is, if a customer is in front of me, seeking assistance, they are going to get my help, without arrogant judgement. They are a person first and foremost, and that’s all that matters. See the person, not your prejudices.

To be fair, Ben, Manchester United supporters are always fair game, surely?
Or at least Man City, especially after last weeks findings.
😉
Hah, I can get behind that amendment! Twitter is full of City fans bemoaning the injustice of it all. Now, I hate Utd as much as the next guy, but some City fans are trying to create an equivalence between Fergie’s era of success, and City’s… as though building a dynasty via youth is somehow a bad thing, nor as bad as City cheating their way to success. The pretzel logic is baffling.
I don’t do X(twitter) so I take your word on the moaning Cityzens.
It will be interesting to see how much fallout there will be if and when this fully comes to a head.
As to the serious side of your post.
In general I agree.
