The Thinking ‘Kat: Repeal the 19th? (Content Warning)

In the wake of a high-profile, tragic and traumatic case (please see this link for details), some people – predominantly men but also some women – have called on the US government to repeal the 19th Amendment. The 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote, but in the eyes of some, women are too fragile, emotional and flaky to retain that right.

There is a certain irony about that. I asked Gemini which gender commits the most violent crimes. It scoured sources, including the FBI’s crime database, and gave me this answer:

• General Convictions: Men account for roughly 75% to 80% of all criminal convictions and arrests.
• Violent Offenses: Males commit about 80% to 85% of violent crimes, including serious assaults and homicides.

Key Factors

Criminologists and sociologists point to several contributing factors for this gender disparity:

• Socialization: Gender roles often encourage physical assertiveness, competitiveness, or aggression more in males than in females.
• Biological and Psychological Differences: Studies indicate variations in baseline testosterone levels and impulse control mechanisms, though socialization heavily shapes how these factors manifest.
• Peer Influence: Young males are statistically more prone to group dynamics and risk-taking behavior that lead to street crime. [1, 2, 3]

Men also commit more violent crime against women than women do against men, and men commit sexual abuse against children in the vast majority of cases.

So, if instability and a failure to control one’s emotions is a factor behind whether or not someone is suitable to vote, why are we not in fact restricting voting rights to women, instead of seeing arguments about taking those rights away? To further to add to this notion, consider that Epstein’s vast, evil network was there to benefit men, and the primary victims were girls and young women.

In the wake of an interesting discussion over at Insanity Bytes, I wonder what Barabbas Me, one of those arguing to repeal the 19th (among other things), thinks of the general problem with men, and also how it’s generally older men who have organised and ran the Epstein network. I eagerly await his response.
