Meerkat Prompts: Famous Pepole
Who is the most famous or infamous person you have ever met?
I can’t say I’ve had too many deep encounters with famous people. My meetings with them have generally been fleeting. I’ve had my photo taken with William Shatner (famous for portraying Captain James T. Kirk), George Takei (Hikaru Sulu), and I’ve been honoured to have conversations with several other Star Trek actors, but these have been brief moments. Then again, I suppose they still count as meeting them, right?
I’ve had some online conversations with Star Trek actors. Anthony Rapp (Paul Stamets in Discovery) always has time for fans on Twitter. Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi in Star Trek) has also made time for engagement online. These moments, as short as they’ve been, have stuck with me. I do not expect every celebrity to give up their time, in fact I don’t expect any of them to do so, so it is always nice when some of them stop to have some sort of chat, in whatever format that takes. Who knows if I’ll get the opportunity to have more detailed discussions with them at some point in the future? With luck that will somehow pan out!
