It’s time for the latest edition of the Meerkat Q&A! This question is brought to us all via my loving wife, who asks: Scrappy Doo, yay or nay?

For those who are unaware, Scrappy Doo is a character from the Scooby Doo franchise. He was introduced in 1979 as a daring – if rather rash -foil to the anxious and terrified Shaggy and Scooby. He gave the other characters a reason to get into scary situations by bravely charging into danger! Initially he was actually a success, helping to revive the Scooby shows, but over time, for whatever reason, the character fell out of favour. A lot of fans deemed him annoying and irritating, and Scrappy slowly became reviled. The extent of this frustration was manifested in 2002’s Scooby Doo movie, where Scrappy was cast in the role of the villain.

Of course, not everyone resents Scrappy. Some people actually rather love the character. The question I pose is: what do you think, dear ‘kats?
