In the wake of Donald Trump’s decision to tacitly support Russia’s imperialist invasion of Ukraine, the tangerine tyrant has offered further criticism of Ukrainian leader President Zelenskyy<\/a>. Trump has gone as far as to suggest Zelenskyy is harder to deal with than Putin, but that’s an easy statement to make when Trump is effectively under Putin’s thumb\/friendly with Russia’s dictator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zelenskyy is trying to guide his country through a terrible set of circumstances, and needs all the leverage he can get. Trump is upset because Zelenskyy is making decisions he believes will grant him the best opportunity to force Russia to stop, or at least throttle back their offensive. It just so happens that those decisions do not align with Trump’s interests, and since Trump is all about his own interests, he is throwing a hissy fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The truth behind spiralling fuel prices can be found in Trump’s botched offensive actions against Iran, and their impact on the Strait of Hormuz. Since Trump is not big on responsibility, he is instead trying to deflect, painting Zelenskyy and Ukraine as the problem, for having the audacity to defend themselves by any means necessary against an aggressor. It should have been obvious that signing a deal with Putin that would help Russia fund their invasion would have been met with resistance, yet Zelenskyy was prepared to honour an energy truce, and indeed did, for three days, despite Russia continuing to pound Ukraine’s own energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump lacks the spine to stand up to Putin, so instead, his government have, it seems, briefly throttled Ukraine’s access to the Starlink system, which has been vital for Ukrainian military operations. One of the direct consequences of this has been to make it easier for Russia to bomb Ukrainian cities. Trump’s government has effectively punished Ukraine for seeking to defend itself, and tacitly helped Russia to target Ukraine more effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite this, the odds are good that there will still be those who blindly worship Trump, and blindly accept his decision to support Russia. In the eyes of his worshippers, he can do no wrong. His meek followers will blame anyone but<\/strong> Trump for what he does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
