It was recently my birthday – a time to pause and reflect upon what’s happened between now and my previous birthday, which this time around has seen a change of job, with all the associated pressures and rewards therein. It’s kinda sad – this time last year I was still working for the bathroom place but had already successfully landed my new job – it was a case of the clock ticking down until my job changed. I miss my old job – mostly because of the people – but sentiment doesn’t get you very far in life and, without question, my new job pays more, which means I can afford more of the things my family and I want and need.
Not just in a work sense but in a person sense, we should always remember who we were, the people who shaped us and who we have perhaps shaped in some way or form. I am reminded of the 11th Doctor’s farewell – We are all different people all through our lives and that’s okay, that’s good you’ve got to keep moving so long as you remember all the people that you used to be.
As a final bit of reflection, the final words of the 12th Doctor – love hard, run fast, be kind. Words of wisdom as we cross that birthday boundary!
Happy belated birthday!
I was 21… again!
You’re only as old as you feel! Also, at 30, I started going backwards when giving my age. I intend to bounce between 21 & 30 forever!
Sorry I missed it. Hope it was a happy one. As for running fast, I stand and face things more than I did, though I’m a lot older than you. I’ve learned to be more confident.
